We, Hayden Manufacturing Company Inc., have been supplying goods & services to the cranberry industry since 1892. It has been a family business since 1927.
Our grandfather Emile St. Jacques bought the business from Linthrop Hayden in 1927 & continued manufacturing the Hayden Separator which sorts the cranberries to prepare them for market. This machine revolutionized the cranberry industry creating larger profit for the cranberry growers. Throughout the years our grandfather & father Robert St. Jacques invented & re- modified many cranberry related equipment such as the Hayden Dusters & the Hayden Lift Pump which was used to move 2000 GPM - 20,000 GPM. Also Hayden cellophane bagging and weighing machine used to package cranberries for the market. In 1953 Bob St. Jacques bought the patent for the Darlington Cranberry Harvester from his good friend Tom Darlington of the JJ White Company in New Jersey. After our grandfather's passing in 1957 -our father and grandmother, Marie St. Jacques, continued the family business expanding the line of merchandise to irrigation pumps & a wide variety of irrigation supplies. Also cranberry maintenance equipment such as the cranberry water harvester, weed wipers, assorted hand tools, weed whackers & etc....until our father’s unfortunate passing in 1993.
Since then we, David St. Jacques & Raymond St. Jacques, have continued the family tradition. We re-modified Darlington Cranberry Harvester to pick today's larger crops. We also rent out equipment and sell used equipment. In the year 2000 we brought back the Hayden Cranberry Separator. All of our equipment can be shipped worldwide.
In addition- since 2003 we have been buying & selling primitive antiques. We, at Hayden Separator Antique Shop, specialize in cranberry boxes and a wide variety of wooden crates but we also stock a wide variety of other antiques. We pride ourselves in carrying the types of rustic antiques which symbolize America’s hard-working past.
All are welcome to visit our rather large 5 room 101 year old antique shop, located in a former cranberry screenhouse, The New England Cranberry Sales Company.
So if you would like to take a step back in time, please come visit us and let us share the history of our family business with you.
